Every summer since 2001, Ancient Olympia — that cradle of symbolism for ancient Greek ideals — has been hosting a summer school on political science and international relations, drawing students and academics from around the world. Now at its second decade, the Olympia Summer School has earned international plaudits and prestige, with applications coming in every year from all over the world. Almost 95 percent of the students are from abroad, with half coming from the United States and Europe.
The Olympia Summer Academy mostly accepts graduate students working towards Masters or Ph.D. degrees, but some advanced undergraduates, as well as researchers and practitioners, are also accepted. For their admission, applicants should send their application electronically until May 3rd, 2017 and they should be fluent in English, the language of the program.
In order to secure your place in the Academy, there is a 150€ non-refundable registration fee to be paid in advance. Those wishing to attend two cycles (one from Group I and one from Group II) do not have to pay the registration fee twice. The tuition and board charges cover: shared accommodation in a double occupancy room with breakfast, electronic access to all the reading material, excursions, cultural, social and extra curricular activities and transportation from Athens International Airport to Nafplio and back.
